About Camp Leader Trevor Nordeen

Trevor brings a combination of creative expertise, hands-on craftsmanship, and classroom experience to the Gig Harbor BoatShop summer camps, creating learning environments that are both skill-building and genuinely fun. He served as the BoatShop's Director of Marketing and Programming for three years and his deep familiarity with the BoatShop's mission and culture makes him a natural fit for sharing his passion with the next generation

Trevor currently works as the Interim English and Language Arts Teacher at Clear Creek High School in Colorado, and has worked extensively as a substitute teacher across all grade levels. He is experienced at connecting with students of all ages, adapting his communication style to meet learners where they are, and making complex ideas accessible and engaging.

Whether he's in front of a classroom, in the wood shop, or out on the water, Trevor is driven by a love of storytelling, craftsmanship, and helping people discover what they're capable of.

The Adrian Gunter Memorial Summer Camp Scholarship

Adrian Gunter was an energetic and valued member of the first season of Gig Harbor BoatShop's teen summer camp program. In the boat shop, Adrian was curious and a kind and positive presence with his fellow participants. He was motivated to learn woodworking and boatbuilding techniques, demonstrating a strong ability to focus and work independently. Affable, funny, and enthusiastic, he was eager and willing to lend a hand to others. On the water, he used his experience to encourage his teammates in rowing, water safety, and collaboration. This culminated in a final program highlight: successfully navigating waves and currents while rowing an Eddon Wherry in tandem with a fellow camper to Point Defiance.

Adrian's family initiated the Adrian Gunter Scholarship in hopes of helping others engage in the maritime activities he so loved. He is missed by everyone in the BoatShop community.
